Kohala zipline
The north end of the island is green, wet and quiet. A zipline through that canopy is the paid activity that fits a Kohala day, between Pololū and the drive back to the resort.

What you are booking
Expect several lines, a few hours, and a weight limit printed in the listing. Read it. Rain is normal in Kohala and does not cancel a tour the way a rough ocean does. Wear shoes that stay on your feet and clothes you can get dirty.
Morning tours get a clearer view before the clouds sit on the ridges. If you are also driving to Pololū lookout, do the zipline first and the lookout after, not the other way around.
Who should skip it
If heights are a real fear rather than a mild thrill, this will not convert you. The lookouts at Pololū and Waipiʻo are free and, for a lot of people, the better memory.
Tours run from the Hāwī and Kapaʻau side. From Kona it is about an hour and a half before you start. From Hilo it is a long way to go for a half day.
